About Giri

Security-driven engineer who enjoys turning theory into labs – and labs into hardened, observable infrastructure.

I’m a B.Tech Computer Science student at VIT Amaravati, specialising in networking, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. I prefer learning by building – so most of my skills come from setting up multi-VM labs, breaking them like an attacker, and then hardening them like a defender.

My projects range from Evil Twin Wi-Fi attack simulations and Apache WAF + Fail2Ban labs to SSH certificate-based access across multiple Linux hosts. I care about clean documentation, reproducible setups, and being able to explain why each security control exists.

I’m looking for roles where I can contribute to security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or blue-team tooling while continuing to grow as a hands-on engineer.

Evil Twin Attack Simulation & Detection
Full Wi-Fi rogue AP lab with captive portal and SSID spoofing detection.
• Built a rogue AP by cloning a legitimate SSID using Hostapd and Dnsmasq.
• Implemented DNS redirection and captive portal flows on Apache to capture login attempts.
• Designed a browser-extension concept that checks AP MAC address & consistency to flag spoofed SSIDs.

Secure Apache2 Load Balancer Lab
TLS reverse proxy with WAF, intrusion blocking, and live log analytics.
• Configured TLS-secured Apache reverse proxy with multiple backend nodes and hardened vhosts.
• Integrated ModSecurity + OWASP CRS to block SQLi, XSS, command injection & recon traffic.
• Added Fail2Ban and GoAccess for real-time IP banning and dashboard-style log analysis.

SSH Certificate-Based Authentication
Central CA issuing short-lived SSH certs for multi-VM access.
• Built a central SSH Certificate Authority to sign and rotate user host certificates.
• Hardened the environment using UFW, port restrictions and strict host key verification.
• Used ProxyJump to chain access via a bastion host, reducing exposed attack surface.
